I have ?OTHO. The only thing that seems to fit is sotho, but if that is correct I can't see why! Thanks.

wordplay seems to give shoot - ho(house) inside sot(drunkard) - (in contrary to drunkard in house) ??
sotho is anagram of shoot but ..........??

just read the preamble more closely , so yes that would fit in with a type 2 clue.
