I have delayed giving the answer to the SF reference as I was waiting to see if the tenor of comments in the Personal Chatty Threads conversations changed. They didn’t.
It is still appropriate and, dare I say it, ironic, bearing in mind the apparent age of most of the contributors. Think playgrounds.
Before any sensitive souls accuse me of being hostile, I’m not.

It was definitely my era but I don't remember it.

For those who are interested, the expression “C’mon children” was used by the SF singer, Steve Marriott, to encourage audiences and also featured in their hit song Hey Girl. It was also the title of an album track.
I can’t remember the precise details but I used it on the Forum as a light-hearted playground analogy with the words being used by the Playground Supervisor (Norah) at a time when correspondents seemed to be getting a little overexcited and silly!

Hi kenyatta, I was wrong about the SF song! I joined in the thread for a bit of fun, along with quite a few others. It's a crossword forum with a variety of people, some jolly, some funny, no doubt some a bit grumpy and obviously the chatty thread, started by Norah, is just a bit of socialising with the friendly ones, not about crosswords but hey, it doesn't matter. If it annoys anyone to see the thread, I suppose that just indicates we are quite a mix but not clicking on it is probably the best option for those who can't bear it. I definitely wasn't over excited when I joined in the thread. I just like being friendly.
