Hi, Rusty!
"Pollyanna" is a lovely story!
It is written by Eleanor H. Porter, who I think is an American author.
Yes, do read it, I think you would enjoy it!
She wrote a sequel, too - "Pollyanna Grows up"
I often reread both books, but I find the first one the better.
"Pollyanna" is a lesson to us all in the nicest possible way.
I don't know about a TV series? - you could well be right - but there is a fantastic film where Hayley Mills plays Pollyanna, as no one else possibly could!
I would recommend that , too.
Funnily enough, the film was shown on television only the other day, although I didn't watch it on this occasion, having seen it many times previously!
Yes, good to have our granddaughter visit - she is adorable, but like a whirlwind though - far more exhausting than all four grandsons put together!
We shall need reviving by evening!
I hope Miss L-B enjoys her holiday!
(Did she ever "report" your "roof excursion" to her dad?)

Good afternoon, Elle,
I noticed Pollyanna was on TV a couple of weeks ago and I think that may have fixed it in my head.
I added it to my "to do" list, which also include finding out what on earth logarithms were all about.
I read Anne of Green Gables a time ago and I liked that.
I will have a look on Amazon to see what the craic is with Pollyanna.
Do you know this, Elle?
I really liked Hayley Mills but have not heard of her in yonks!
Is she still to the fore?
I hope you enjoy your granddaughter's visit, tiring or no!
No, I do not think La Bamba said anything.
It is a nice day at the loch.
They have not said why they were not transmitting last night.

Hello Rusty,

Pretty windy on the route of Le Tour ! Wouldn't it be nice to have a French win today in particular ! but somehow I doubt it, although you never know what might happen during the climb of the Ventoux.

I hope we are lucky and see some local mountain fauna!

Good afternoon, Pigale!
Yes, a French winner on Bastille Day would be very satisfying!
Fingers crossed!
It looks to be nice weather except for the wind!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I bought my two "Pollyanna" books from Amazon a few years ago, having long lost my original volumes.
(I suspect I lent them to someone who failed to return them; that is what usually has happened to 'lost' books)
It is many years ago since I read "Anne of Green Gables" - by L. Montgomery if I remember correctly?
Hayley Mills?
I know her well of old, especially from "Tiger Bay"; "Pollyanna"; "Whistle down the Wind"; and "The Parent Trap" where she played both twins.
But no, I don't know what has happened to her lately?
I am going to disappear now for a while....I must take the dog out briefly before our granddaughter arrives.
I'm assuming they will be here about 3.30 - 4pm
It will be about 7 or 8 o'clock before they go home.
So I'll catch you later this evening.
Enjoy the cycling - I hope all goes well and there are no accidents due to the high winds.

Good afternoon to you, too, Elle!
I am "watching" copies of Pollyanna on eBay.
Shall choose one later.
I shall try and find out a bit about Hayley.
Fine day here, at Troon, and in France!
Look out your skipping rope for the young one and you to play!

Hello, Pigale!
The wind is howling on the Tour.
120 kph on top of the Ventoux.
Thank goodness the finish is at the treeline.
Team Sky have had a few riders crashing, but fair play to Quintana and Team Movistar, they did not attack.
I seen Cancellara have a word with them.
More to come on this stage!

Yes Rusty, apparently Chris Froome mentioned to the other riders he was going to wait for his team mates. Good entente among these guys!

French TV has just shown some people who are at top of Ventoux with bikes and they can hardly stand, let alone ride ! Temps last night there minus 10 !

Hello, Pigale!
I have never seen a stage like this.
What happens to Froome?
He was running up the mountain without a bike!!,
Porte crashed into a motorbike.
God knows what happened to Froome's bike!

Pigale, they have Adam Yates in yellow!
I really feel for Froome.
What on earth was he supposed to do?
I hope the powers that be on le Tour use common sense and reinstate Froome to yellow.
He cannot lose the jersey like this!
