Hello, Elle!
Hope you and the ladies enjoy lunch!
It is a smashing day here, but on the cool side.
Well done on your efforts with the Scots gentleman!
You have made a bit of progress.
Are you going to take aim at the manufacturer now?
Maybe a new Freeview box from them would solve the problem? Worth suggesting?
Tennis and the Diamond League on Eurosport this evening.
I think Jenny Meadows and Laura Muir are running.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Yes, lunch was most enjoyable, thank you. As was the company and the chat!
I see that you all had problems earlier with the Crossword site....did you discover what was wrong?
I doubt that taking the issue of ITV4 any further will gain me anything? My box is old and I cannot blame this on the manufacturer!
It looks as though - for the time being - we shall have to live life without this Channel!
Which Diamond League have you got showing this evening?
The Bislett Games in Oslo are taking place today, I think? Will these be the 6th round?
The highlights of such are being televised on BBC2 on Saturday , so I shall be able to watch then.
I like both Jenny and Laura.
It is extremely hot here now, the temperature is in the mid- twenties.

Malone, I am becoming used to these Cockney clues!
5 D. Sign impedes worker in the East End (9).

Elle, I thought you (all, everyone) would get the Cockney clue - it was so typical of its kind. I have always liked the word 'ampersand', so will erase the East End parsing stuff from my brain.

Good afternoon, Elle!
Glad you enjoyed lunch.
I can get on site now, but have no idea what happened earlier.
Yes, it is the Bislett games, live, and later, athletics from Pietro Mennea Stadium in a Faraway Place.
A pity about your Freeview box.
Well, as the experts cannot fix it, the only thing to do is get hold of a teenager?
Remember, you will need ITV4 for Le Tour.

Malone, I eventually got "ampersand".
I just cannot think in "East End"!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, it looks as though I shall get to see the same thing as you eventually, but we will only be getting the Highlights of the Diamond League - not the live event - and not until Saturday!
I shall have to be patient!
I rang the Humax line but it was all recorded and they needed information about the Freeview box that I no longer have!
GRRRH!
So where are these teenagers then when you need them?

Hello, Elle!
Well, regarding the Humax line, I think you should make it up as as you go along until a human speaks to you.
Won't do any harm to let them know your Humax box is not receiving the stations it should. They may offer you a new one?
I think dialling 999 for assistance is a bit over the top?
Just read a piece about Victoria Pendleton. She says Shane Sutton is the reason she retired early. She had wanted to go on to Rio.
And Lizzie Armitstead has chosen a band for her wedding and is very pleased with them!

Hi, Rusty!
I think I'm all worn out with being a Crusader!
Look where my battle with Chambers got me?
Absolutely nowhere!
(but if I can find any paperwork, I just may ring Humax back........)
I'm not sure what to think about Victoria? I do understand her leaving Cycling when she did - I think she was almost at breaking point? - but if she really wanted to go to Rio, then she should have stuck it out?
If the girls had banded together earlier, then surely they could have made a united stand against Shane Sutton?
There is being an official investigation now.....so why not sooner?
What do you think?
Is Lizzie getting married in Yorkshire?

Hello, Elle.
Too late now for Victoria.
She has emailed whoever is in charge of this investigation, that she wants to give evidence. I think when she saw what had happened to Jess, it brought it all back, and she wants to help.
I would imagine Lizzie will get married in Otley, her home town.
Her intended is a Donegal man.
Be after Rio I think.
A serial number should be on your Humax box. And a model number.
Surely that would be enough?
Buenchico says a booster should make a big difference.

Hi, Rusty!
Who is Buenicho? A booster?
You have lost me here? Please explain!
I hope we shall have another lovely day tomorrow.
We are going with younger daughter, BB, and baby to Surrey Docks Farm.
Our last expedition to a farm with (all) the children was such a success that we are repeating the process!
Surrey Docks Farm is a working farm occupying just over two acres on the South Bank of the Thames.
Animals reared there include goats, sheep, cattle, pigs, ducks, chickens, geese, turkeys, donkeys and bees!
We have not been there before , so this is a new venture for us.
I hope it will be a successful outing and that BB will enjoy the day.
Baby is now three months old and beginning to be interested in all about him, too.
Keep your fingers crossed for some lovely weather for us!

Hello, Elle!
Buenchico is on Answerbank. Think he is a mod.
He is superb at solving techno problems.
He thinks if there is a channel missing, it is an aerial fault.
A weak signal, usually. Could there be a tree or somesuch blocking your signal?
A signal booster from ASDA or somewhere should make a big difference, he says.
And he said that most aerial installers do not know what they are doing.
Yes, I hope you have a nice day.
I shall stay home.
Think I have a bug!
