Good morning, Eirlys.
That is a good site you posted.
Tells me I can get ITV4!
Good morning, Elle,
If you type, "Freeview Tuning" into your search box, there is lots of helpful info there.
Seems very simple to do.
A dry morning here.
Fine weather for my trip to my dental check up!

Good morning to you rusty
Retuning is probably the solution.
I always click "yes" when asked if I want to add the latest channels, and I always unplug my TV and freeview at night

Hello, Eirlys!
Adding the latest channels seems a sound idea.
I have a Skybox, so have limited knowledge of Freeview.
My solution to these technological hiccups is to get a teenager involved.
Works every time!

Hi rusty
Teenagers are so quick at solving techno problems, but I actually enjoy technology...I always endeavour to solve any problem myself first. I feel (hope) that it keeps my brain cells in good order, along with crosswords and various other hobbies.
Google and youtube are two of my best pals ;)

Good morning, Rusty!
A fine day here, too, but dull so far......
Are you back yet from the dentist? How did you get on? A clean bill of health, I hope.
Lovely walk this morning - and I gleaned some interesting information about Freeview, too!
(Incidentally, I do know how to retune it....that was the first thing I thought of doing when I discovered that I didn't have a signal for the ITV4 channel!
I'm sorry if my omitting to say that, clouded the issue?)
I checked out the link sent by Eirlys, and, yes, we are supposedly able to receive ITV4 via Freeview in our area, but....... no -one around us can get it !
The signal is too weak.
I think it must be because we live half way on a hill and in a dip.
Research in the park showed two people who live at the top of the hill do have it!
A friend living near me exchanged his Freeview for Sky and a satellite dish, and now has access to the Channel.
I think short of installing an outdoor aerial (which might work?) we are stuck!
Oh good.... the sun is coming out! I am off shortly to meet my old school friend for lunch.
We are planning on dining outside in a walled garden!
So fingers crossed that there are no thunderstorms!

Hello, Eirlys!
That is a useful link to have .
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to send it.
Unfortunately, we are no nearer to solving what is now appearing to be a local problem!
Have a nice day.

Hello, Eirlys!
Good to know someone on the forum knows about technology!
I shall keep it in mind!
I agree, the answers to most things can be found on Google or YouTube.
The term "you tube" would be an insult in Scotland.
A tube being "someone who is a bit thick"!
I have no idea where it came from!

Hello, Elle!
Check up was fine, but she has booked me in for a scale and polish and four x-rays.
The x-rays were a surprise, but she wants to see if everything is in order with my fillings.
I did not know you knew how to retune your Freeview.
You must have cultivated a teenager?
As far as I know, outdoor aerials are much better than indoor ones, or they used to be, but with the advances in technology I would not be so sure anymore.
I may (when I get a minute) have a look on Answerbank to see if there is any gen on aerials there.
Weather is pleasantly cloudy here.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I had a lovely time with my friend! The weather was brilliant at that stage......the sun was shining and the sky blue.....we sat out in the walled garden for lunch, and I (very healthily) ate a Greek salad!
The restaurant is in the middle of a wood - and so we went for a long walk afterwards, before I caught the tram home.
Talk about good timing,...I just made it back before the thunderstorm started!!
It is now pouring with rain, and thundering and lightning to boot! The dog is terrified and the cat blase! (sorry, cannot do accents!)
No, no teenagers......(you do not have much faith in me!)
We have never ever had an outdoor aerial - not in goodness -knows how many years!
It has never been necessary.
I know zilch about them? I should think though that they are expensive - both to buy and to have installed?
How are you doing with thunderstorms??

Good afternoon, Elle,
I can do accents!
Do a long press on a letter and a wee window opens with a choice of them. È,é,ě,ý,ø,ö,æ,å,ă,ģ,ķ,ĺ,ź etc.
Am I not clever, and not a teenager in sight!
It is a beautiful afternoon here.
I do not know a Greek salad?
I had a hunt for aerials on Answerbank, and found an answer by Buenchico (he knows everything!).
He said indoor aerials are not nearly as good as outdoor ones.
But that post was several years old, so who knows.
I think you should get ITV4 though.
Locally we have several firms who install them.
My town is built around an extinct (we hope) volcano and signals can get blocked, so a bit of expertise setting up an aerial is very useful.
There was a superb photo in my local paper today of an osprey near Aviemore. It had caught TWO trout in one swoop over the loch. Impressive!
