Hello, Elle!
I hope Tim wins!
I am glad you said your fish is from the chip shop.
I had visions of the late goldfish coming out of the dustbin!
Lizzie will be on TV next week in the Tour de Yorkshire.
But, it seems she will be in a Great Britain team rather than her own Boels Dolman team, so goodness knows how that will work out for her. Not too well, I would not think.
The Boels Dolman girls are a powerful team.
Just saw a preview of three acts who are on BGT tomorrow.
Not impressed!
One was a schoolgirl choir from Kilkenny, one was a middle aged couple singing and dancing (the panel and audience thought they were great!" I thought not much of them.
And a young lad throwing shapes. He was quite good.
Alesha loved him.

Hi, Rusty!
I too hope that Tim wins, although most probably he won't!
What tennis event is this? I cannot find any record of it?
Do not make jokes about the departed goldfish!
I have to face his owner tomorrow!
She should arrive back from Australia around midnight! I dropped off some milk and a loaf of bread for her this morning.
How come Lizzie will be cycling for a different team? Are they allowed to chop and change like that?
I see that BBC2 are showing the third round of the ITU World Triathlon series in Cape Town, on Monday.
Now this is puzzling? because nowhere can I find showings of rounds one and two - or any subsequent rounds, should there be any?
Do you know anything about this?
Shall you watch the London Marathon on Sunday? I hope they have a good day for it.

Hello, Elle,
I think it is a charity event in Glasgow. (I shall try and find it later, after I burn the toast)
I think just four players involved, Andy and Jamie Murray, Tim Henman, and Gael Monfils.
I do not understand why Lizzie is in a makey-up GB team rather than her own team.
I presume she has got dispensation.
I doubt very much if the GB team can offer the support that she gets from Boels Dolman. They are really top class.
I know nothing about the triathlon series.
Yes, I always watch the marathon. I wonder if Edna Kiplagat is in it. I backed her when she won a couple of years ago.
Will Jo Pavey be in it, think you?
Vroum Vroum Mag runs at Sandown tomorrow!

Hello, Elle!
It is on 21st September in Glasgow.
Andy plays Gael Monfils, then Jamie Murray and Andy play Gael and Tim Henman in the doubles.
The charities are a Glasgow one, and Unicef.
Little Emma Pooley is coming out of retirement to help Lizzie in Rio. She is riding in the Yorkshire race, too.
A tough wee cookie is Emma!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for taking the trouble to find out about the tennis...I didn't realise that it was an event so far ahead. It is good that it is a charity match.
I shall mark it on my calendar! I wonder though if it will be televised?
I caught the tail end of John McEnroe talking on television the other evening about playing some match or other? He was warning his opponent to watch out!
I missed most of the announcement so have no idea what it was about? Did you hear of it?
I have just googled the Elite Women's Start List for Sunday......I couldn't see any sign of Jo Pavey's name? nor could I see Edna Kiplagat, although Florence Kiplagat is running.
It is a fairly common name!
So you have horse racing to watch tomorrow?
I have nothing, altho there is a lead- in programme about the London Marathon, in the morning, I think.
"Casualty" again overlaps with BGT - although only partially , I think, this week!
Very dreich here! and freezing cold!!!

Hello, Elle!
A pity Jo Pavey is not running.
Edna Kiplagat is concentrating on the Rio marathon.
I had a look at the elite women start list and one of them is Charlotte Purdue of GB, who is making her debut?
How can she be "elite" if she has not ran a marathon before?
I shall cheer her on on Sunday seeing as Edna is not running.
I do not know any of the men runners!
I do not know what McEnroe is on about.
I have had the heating on this evening.

Hi, Rusty!
I think the term "elite" applies to the professional athletes as opposed to the 'hoi- polloi' of the general public?
I do not recognise any of the GB runners apart from Alyson Dixon, whose name rings a bell?
In the men's race, I know three names .......Kipchoge, Wilson Kipsang and Bekele.
My younger daughter had tried for several years to get a place in the London Marathon.
When she finally was awarded one, she had just had BB! I think she does intend to try again at some stage ........
We haven't turned our central heating off yet! I did turn it down very low, when the weather turned somewhat warmer, but it has remained on during the daytime.
I am obviously more "nesh" than you!

Hello, Elle!
I recognised Gebrsalassie in the men's race.
I will cheer on young Charlotte.
Her nickname is "the Pocket Rocket"!
I tend to put a fleece on when it is cold.
My boiler is getting serviced next week.

I always find watching the London marathon very emotional. The theme tune, I have just discovered, is from The Trap ( Oliver Reed and Rita Tushingham) and it gets to me every time.

I've only ever done a very slow 5K and really admire those taking part for all their good causes.

Good morning, Rusty!
It was a very chilly start with frost on the grass this morning!
However, a watery sun is now striving to come through......
Have you been out yet for your paper?
I was reading this morning that British Cycling is to contact Jess Varnish over her claims that the coaches told her she was "too old" and "to go away and have a baby"!
What a liberty?
I see what you mean...shades of Victoria....?
This is a funny time of year to have your boiler serviced? We have ours done before the start of Winter, usually the beginning of October.
Do you not use your gas fire, if it suddenly goes chilly, and you don't have your central heating on?
(Which reminds me.......I have yet to look into changing our old (non- functioning) gas fire for a newer model!)

Hello, Rossim!
When the 'children' were young , we used to take them over to Greenwich to see the start of the Marathon.
It was always quite a momentous occasion!
I remember Rita Tushingham in " A Taste of Honey"
