Good morning, Elle!
I am just home.
Been out and about.
Danny Willet did very well indeed!
England had four players in top ten.
An excellent showing, and bodes well for the Ryder Cup!.
Felt for Jordan Spieth though.
He snatched disaster from the jaws of victory.
Reminiscent of Greg Norman imploding years ago.
BGT more of, or whatever it is called, is not for me.
Had a wee look, but no! The normal show is far better.
The coffee is a good idea!

Hi, Rusty!
So was that show "BG more T" what I thought it might be - just a gossipy catch up programme?
That is how I understood it from the write-up in my TV guide?
If so, I didn't think you would like it!
There isn't a great deal that I like to watch on the television, especially at the moment.
Although one of my favourites is coming back this week ,"Scott and Bailey".
It's a cop show, but with a difference as the detectives are two women.
I also like "Casualty" - which reminds me.......I have yet to watch last Saturday's episode.
Just about to go out now with the dog.....the weather is rapidly deteriorating, so we will try to beat the rain!

Good evening, Elle!
Yes, just gossipy nonsense.
I am fairly fussy regarding TV programmes.
Scott and Bailey is new to me.
Been dry but chilly here today.
The Times crossword was too easy today, I thought?
I prefer the tough ones!

Good evening, Rusty!
Well, we didn't beat the rain in time for our afternoon walk!
It was extremely wet out!
We are having a nicer evening though.
I didn't have the Times 15 x 15 so cannot answer as to its difficulty.
Your idea of 'hard' and mine will be somewhat different anyway! - I still haven't really mastered the larger Times crossword, as you have, although I'm pretty good with the QC.
I like Sunday's Everyman!
I have started a new book. "The Divide" by Nicholas Evans.
He wrote "The Horse Whisperer" and "The Smoke Jumper".
You may not have read any of them as they are fiction?
This looks as though it will be a good read.
What are you reading at present?

Hello, Elle!
I read a non fiction book once about smoke jumpers.
They get dropped alongside forest fires in USA, to hopefully extinguish them. Very brave folk.
I think it was written by the man who wrote The Perfect Storm.
Is that what your book is about?
My book is called The Master of Doninga.
It is a biography of Paddy Mullins, Willie's father.
Paddy trained the great Dawn Run.
No rain here today, but it has been dull.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, that is what "The Smoke Jumper" is about.
The storyline is fictional, but the fire fighting - and the extinguishing of forest fires by the smoke jumpers - is an integral part of the book.
The fire fighting background is very interesting and I enjoyed the book.
I also liked "The Horse Whisperer" although I was very disappointed by the differences between the book and the subsequent film.
As I've said many times before (!) I hate discrepancies between books and films!
I hope you are enjoying the book about Paddy Mullins?
I'm assuming Domina is a village in Ireland?
Isn't here also a place of that name in Ghana?
Raining again here!

Hello, Elle,
The book was by a man called Sebastian Junger.
It was excellent. There are even smoke jumpers in the prisons ready for action, if needed.
I remember seeing a film about it many years ago.
"Red Skies of Montana", possibly with Richard Widmark starring?
It is Doninga, not Domina, Elle!
County Kilkenny. not Ghana.
You seem to be getting quite a bit of rain.

Hi, Rusty!
I did amend my mistake!
Goodness knows where 'Domina' came from! (a "senior moment"?)
Yes. I did realise that it must be in Ireland! but there is a Doninga in Ghana, too!
We are getting a lot of rain!
My husband went out to our local Sainsburys just down the road, and has just come back very wet - and bearing gifts of flowers for me for my birthday tomorrow!
I thought that I had already had my present ( the leather jacket) so I am doing well!
We are meeting up with our daughter (and baby) tomorrow, for lunch at our local Indian restaurant - so I shall have a nice day to which to look forward!

Very happy birthday tomorrow, elle!

We have been celebrating our daughter's partner's 40th this weekend - the actual day was today, but the celebration started last Friday.
