Hi, Rusty!
Home again!
Yes, we have had a lovely outing, thank you.
It has been very warm and humid, though, so not the easiest of days to decide to go for a long walk....
But the picnic was fun in the middle....and we got a "sit-down" whilst we ate!
And speaking of food...... we have just ordered a Chinese Take-away for an early dinner at 6 o'clock.
We are looking forward to that!
Have you had a nice day?
I hope the rain stopped? I think it is forecast here for tomorrow!

Hello, Elle!
A pleasant outing you had!
Rain has been on and off here, most off the day.
I stayed home and watched the women's golf mainly.
I follow Elinor Barker on Twitter and she Tweeted her thanks to all the "get well soon" messages she has received today.
She came down in yesterday's crash and broke her collar bone.
And refuses to blame Kirsten!
"We are bike racers and we know these things happen".
So, well said, Elinor, and get fit soon!
I have the men's race on now, they have reached London, and it looks like it will be a sprint finish!

Good evening, Rusty!
We have had a delicious meal!
And I always think food tastes better when one hasn't had to cook it oneself!
That was very generously said by Elinor Barker...... but I am supposing Kirsten's action was simply an accident, and not done with any evil intent...so Elinor is quite right...... "these things do happen"!
I hop everyone involved recovers soon.
The boys are going to take showers/ baths ...and get into their pyjamas......then I think we are all going to play a game.
( I hope it is easier to understand than the "new" game we played yesterday!)

Hello, Elle!
No, it was an accident pure and simple.
Kirsten dived for a gap and her rear wheel clipped Chloe's front wheel and down they went.
Elinor is in hospital and her sister Meg is staying there with her, looking after her.
Very sisterly!
Meg races, too!
Today was the men's turn!
Big crash 2kms from the finish line!
I have no idea what happened!
The race was won by LouLou's teammate, Elia Viviani.
Good luck at the "games"!

Hi, Rusty!
The sky has become very dark and threatening.....the air is stifling....
My son- in- law has just phoned from The Midlands to bid the boys "Good night", and he is having a thunderstorm there.
Perhaps it is all heading South!
The boys are just gone to bed.....
The rest of us are shattered!
I think a quiet evening ahead , chatting and maybe reading.......
How are the girls?
Have you heard anything further from them over the weekend?
Our younger daughter has sent some pics from Swanage.
Wonderful sea views!

Hello, Elle!
Still raining here, off and on!
The girls are "roasting" at Las Vegas!
I just get an odd text from them.
They speak to Mum and Dad, and that's fine.
Let's hope your younger daughter can put you on to somewhere to stay?

Coco is doing well!

Hi, Rusty!
No rain here as yet......but we could do with it...the atmosphere is pretty unbearable.
I gave my daughter a list of three possible options where I thought we might stay.
She is going to check out the locality, and see what the places look like from the outside.
There is little else that she can do.
But in any case, I am doubting that the agencies letting the respective properties would allow us to take the cat?
And for me, this is a deal breaker.
All I can do is look into it.....and see what happens.
We have been spoilt over the years by the holiday houses where we used to stay!
Yes, Coco is doing well - that is good to hear!
And maybe next year, we shall see a lot more of her at Wimbledon!

Hello, Elle!
It is warm here, too.
Hopefully your daughter will find something for you.
Yes, hope Coco is coming back next year.
She was a breath of fresh air!

Good morning, Rusty!
A dull, rainy morning.....but thankfully fresher.
The dog and I have been out for our usual morning walk, taken at a much brisker pace than yesterday.
I left breakfast ready for the troops before I left......
Our daughter and grandsons are visiting local friends this morning, so we are left to our own devices for a spell.
We shall rest.......!
The weather forecast sounds bad for up your way?

As far as I can make out, cat-friendly is for some unfathomable reason not as common as dog-friendly (needless to say, when I am selecting self catering I go for child-friendly and no pets!) Anyway, my suggestion is to ring one or more of the letting paces, like Dorset Coastal Cottages which is now part of a larger group, say what you're after and leave it to them!
Usually these places say if there is an enclosed garden and where the parking is. I've never been anywhere you couldn't unload outside the property, even at Vine Cottage, Osmington where doing so blocked the road!
