Hello, Elle!
Yes, Flawless were very good, but I have not heard of them again.
1A is "Chukka", a period of play, in the game of polo, I think.
"One throwing" is a "chucker".
In 15, the tongue is "Erse", "a Parisian" is "un", with "lad"/youth reversed around "Erse", for "underseal".
My problem is my lack of knowledge of London districts (again!)
7d I have "Swami". A Hindu dignitary.
I have "a.m." for morning, leaving "Swi".
I take that to mean, possibly, SW1.
Is Westminster in SW1? That's what I do not know?
It used to be Wimbledon in SWI, in crosswordland, I think.

Rusty, I thought of you when I saw this little clue over the weekend. I don't think you'll find it difficult...

Rusty saw (5)

PS The SW1 postcode includes Buckingham Palace and Westminster and Whitehall...

I'm back again, Rusty. I've just checked - the postcode for Wimbledon is SW19.

Hello, Malone!
I shall guess "dated" for "Rusty saw" ?

I thought Westminster would be more Central London, but I am wrong, it seems.
I don't approve of setters using London post codes in clues.
How on earth are non-Londoners expected to know them!
Yes, SW19 is Wimbledon, I remember now!

Thanks, Rusty - yes, 'dated' it is.

I was happy to look up the Wimbledon postcode as I felt I should know it. As soon as I saw what it was, I remembered it - better late than never!

Hi, Rusty!
I am very sorry not to have replied to your queries earlier.......my daughter rang at 4 pm as she was leaving work, and as usual we talked until she lost phone reception on the journey home...at 5 o'clock!
It must be very annoying for Non-Londoners, like yourself, to come up against London postcodes, and very unfair of the setter.
I think if you know SW1 for Victoria and Pimlico areas; SW19 for Wimbledon; and EC for the City, you will be reasonably covered.
I am very sorry but I gave you the wrong clue number for the one that I couldn't parse
I had done 15a...I thought is a good clue!
It was 15 DOWN that I was unsure about?
Disturbing being out of bed doing my job? (9)
Upsetting = disturbing (def)
"up" - "being out of bed"
But "setting" - how does this mean "doing my job"?
Am I being dense here?

Hi elle
It looks as if the compiler is actually referring to himself - his job is "setting"!

Hi, Chris!
Now I really do feel stupid!
How kind of you not to say so!!
I puzzled over that for ages!

Good evening, Elle!
Been a fine day here!
Hope the good weather continues!
The only London codes I know are EC for City, and SW19 for Wimbledon.
You mentioned Pimlico and Victoria.
I've not the faintest idea where they are in London.
I have complained to the crossword editor before about overusage of London in clues, but I got no satisfaction.
He suggested I buy an Underground map. Honestly!
I do find it mildly irritating.
Now, 15d, yes, that is a straightforward clue to answer.
The setter is "setting" clues, therefore "my job" means "setting".
You should be kicking yourself!
Miss L-B has just invited me out for a bacon roll tomorrow.
How's you and Outlook getting on?

Hi, Rusty!
Let us not speak of 15 down!
Shall we kindly just call it a senior moment...and put it behind us?
There were some excellent clues, though, that I did manage to do.
My special favourites were : 10a: retinal; 19a; endurance; 21a: traitorous ; 9d; cloche; and 17d: windswept.
I thought it a good puzzle!
There has been no further word from Outlook...I have been hoping that someone would phone me, and then I might be able to retrieve my records.
It is a lovely evening here...but becoming much chillier than the last few days.
I hope you will have a fine day for your outing tomorrow.
