Oh God. Can someone put me out of my misery!

I've got the two word phrase in the grid now. And I guess that the thematic letter is the most common one in the English language?

But still can't find the word "whose resultant representation includes all occurrences of [the] thematic letter".

You are perhaps looking for too much now, Demeter. There are two names in the grid (one an entry) and you have to highlight which you have worked out to be the correct one - which of course must have the correct number of thematic letters.

Are you looking at things from the wrong angle?

Ah, so now I see B***N vertically in the middle. Does that mean that I'm looking for H***S ?

No idea what H***S is so no. You are in the right area with B***N but I will say again are you looking at the wrong angle?

I think I see it now (you'll be relieved to hear!)

The reason it took me a while, it that the occurrences of the thematic letter are not symmetrically spaced, which I would have expected, I suppose.

Way behind everyone here. In the "message" I have five strange letters after "using" (which seem to be exhorting me to play cricket). I can, however, find a couple of unrelated words (4,5) by apparently following the instruction - should there be more?

I think he meant "Higgs"! Anyway, not that.
