Well done aristo & AB, couldn't get the Ilion, just checked in Chambers and it doesn't have it, it does have ILIUM and ILIAN as Troy.

I got Opulence from playing with ounce (troy)
And Tantalus from the L + US but was on the wrong road from the start

"The Prestige" by Christopher Priest was the book I was referring to (later made into a film). It is about feuding magicians (or "illusionists").
