OBJECT of the Puzzle/ 4 clues 4 answers/When you have all 4 answers take the first and last letter of each answer to make the final anagram. Happy solving.

A deadline of 7:00 pm is set to allow others to have a go,after which post at your leisure.

1) In spokesman's job, speak clearly without note to the end, getting respect (10)

2) Prestige left America in Troy (8)

3) Reason party must have switched sides (9)

4) Ships return, these are waiting for the wind (6)

Hi imagcq,
I really won't get a chance to give these enough attention until later this evening so I've written them down. Nothing on first reading other than an idea for #1 but the parsing not immediately obvious. I'll persevere until I have something before looking in again but unlikely before 1900. Thanks again.

Not about Troy.

The Latinised version of the word that makes part of the solution is more familiar (at least to Marlowe)
