I'm really enjoying this one but am stuck on three clues.
2 Cheer bishop replacing lord in seat on jumbo (6) with extra O in wordplay
24 Scots do sign affectionate greeting to people (7) with extra A in wordplay
25 Strong Earl suffering from curse (7) with extra I in wordplay

Thanks very much

25 is an abbrev. for Strong, followed by an abbrev. for Earl, then a word (containing the extra I) meaning "suffering from" the whole giving a curse (not a particularly strong one).

24 is a scottish word for do (containing the extra A) followed by a sign of the zodiac giving an affectionate greeting.

2 is a "seat on a jumbo" with the extra O and then replace an abbrev. for a certain sort lord with an abbrev. for a bishop. The whole meaning a common cheer.

Let me know if you want more detail.

I could do with some help with 39.

Thanks

I'm Just starting to work through the logic stage of the puzzle. There are 26 clues at the end of the list. If I "count a letter" is that the same letter each time? I tried 1st clue = A, second clue = B etc. but that didn't seem to work out in the grid as it produced inconsistencies. Any help much appreciated.

I have most of the shading done, with a few anomalies, but still two unsolved clues :
17  Rustic works notes behind court (4) T__S + C
TEWS and TEDS don't seem to work, but my current grid seems to need the latter.
28  Long shed walls with leafy cover (7) S_____D + N
Gentle hints would be welcomed.

28. A word for "long" (for) -N inside SHED.
17. I had TUTS, but I can't explain why. It fits the shading, but there may be something else that does too.

For 17 CT = court and UTS are old notes. Then leave out the C.

I'm struggling with the final letter. I thought it might be L to represent fifty but couldn't find any transport! Any ideas?
