Yes Leon you are exactly right. The only value 4 is the letter F. Good luck - it's worth the struggle!

leon - Correct as to the method, but there is a 4.
The shading isn't yet working for me, in the top left corner. A 4 conflicts with two of the 0s, so my grid-fill must be wrong.
