I think I have #2 now, but the parsing needs a bit more thought.

Thanks, jolan - I recognise the problem of retirement. I wonder how I ever found time to work!

Not much this week, I'm afraid.
1 ?

2 WEAPON - subtractive anagram WINDOW PANE without WIND (air movement). A FOIL is a weapon.

3 I had IBIDEM, Def "in the same place", hidden in I BIDE My time. Still can't see what the warthog has to do with it, though.

4 ?

5 Wondered if it was CARIB?

See you next week, I hope.

Many thanks for this Jolan. Such a treat to have a free Tuesday afternoon to give your delightful clues a try.
Here are my stabs at them.

1. Charge in to dry up tar (8) Seafarer?
Charge – “fare” inside to dry up – “Sear” gives “sea fare r” – a tar?

2. Foil, say, transforming window-pane while keeping out air in motion? (6) Baffle?
To baffle is to foil and a baffle is used on window panes to keep out light and generally is used for “keeping out air in motion”?

2. In order to trap a warthog, I bide my time, hiding in the same place (6) Ibidem?
Latin for “in the same place” and is hidden in clue?

3. Publicly caress money connected to crack (8) Lollygag?
Money – “Lolly” is connected to crack – “gag” to give “lollygag” in Chambers as “to caress publicly”?

4. Brave child, going inside a model representing the scene of Christ's nativity (5) Long shot- Carib? A Carib is an American Indian or “brave” with “a” going inside model of Christ’s nativity – crib?

My offerings are:

2. Weapon (foil) (subtractive anagram) transforming (anagrind) window-pane (minus wind )

3. ibidem (latin: in the same place) hidden in clue

5. creche ( scene of the nativity) brave(Cree) with ch(child) inside

Look forward to the other answers.
Enjoyed the challenge as always. Thanks Jolan

Couldn't log on again! Same as AB's, but didn't get lollygag, and have CRECHE for 5. (ch in Cree)
