I am (despite helpful clues) struggling with:-
12. ........Saxifrage 6.5. I have found 'a sort of song to saxifrage' but doesnot seem to help
23. Women get assisstence from a young man 9.
33..... and the princess.... Is this referring to the programme 'Rising Damp'
38. Picture of haughty people.... Don't know the film, is it something to do with aristocracy.
84. Whip a horse..... Is it an anagram of words for a whip,+aword for horse.
all clues are appreciated.

winnie 38 is the name of an animated film, but not Lady and the Tramp !
Am stuck on-
30,Kid is heading for row, taking in stray dog,something to do with goats (?)
31. You announced the young horse. That's the one that made the artist famous. Have U---- as name of dog, but can't fit it to the clue
47.Beat back a speechless actor often out on the pull. Silent film star?
48. Hitch in the musical, "chess"-a piece is shortened. Is "dock" in here?
86. Devotees follow the card game in Venice-but they keep low! (6,6) Have not a clue !

30. Nothing to do with goats. Go back through the hints posted here - I know I gave some clues to this one.

31. Seems like you have the right answer. Say it out loud - first three letters apply to first sentence. Second two letters short way of saying first word of second sentence.
