36d is a six letter gambling house with the typical abbreviation for number removed. Def is first two words.

I suppose it would be more helpful if I parsed the correct clue.

For 36d, remove "trip traverses" from "prostrate dervishes" and anagram what remains.

36d is an anagram of two words removed from an anagram of two others. Took me a while to work it out.

36d is an anagram, made up of two words "leaving" the other two words, then being "spread out" for a ceremony

Got the 10 word message derived from the extra words but am struggling to uncover the second word of the puzzle's title.
I understand that this second word when combined with the word 'Braille' will be an anagram of the encoded contents of the first 14 x 6-cell domino shapes. But then nothing. Can anyone nudge me towards this second word of the title, please?

apply the first 6 words of the instruction to your grid using only BRAILLE (half the title). You will end up with a lot of "letters", but some 3x2's will not contain a real letter. So go back to your first grid and think about what letters you can select that will result in real letters in your grid of 3x2's. All 28 letters that result will spell a coherent message. And the first 14 are an anagram of BRAILLE ________.

stacpolly, the way I did it was to mark where I already knew there would be dots (I.e. the letters in BRAILLE), from there there are only a few coherent options for the 14 letters, which are related to the 7th word. I used an anagram finder and removed BRAILLE from the 14 letters message to find the other word
