The clues...
Requests for help should normally include the clue itself, the number of letters in the answer, and details of any you already have. Any additional information or special instructions, common in Listener puzzles, should also be included.
Hints only, please, no answers.

The theme...
Help towards the theme may also be sought. The help given should be on the gentle side - aim for just a nudge, a pointer in the right direction. Avoid giving information that would spoil the puzzle for other solvers.

If anyone feels that too much, thematically, has been revealed, they should let the site adminstrator know - Norah.evoluted@aol.com. Norah tends to err on the side of caution, anything iffy is likely to be removed.

The Listener is a unique puzzle and should be treated with respect.

A well constructed crossword with a theme that neatly chimes with the age group of most Listener solvers.

Thanks, Karla.

I agree, Upsetter! Took me almost as long to figure out the theme/end-game as it did to fill the grid, but the penny eventually dropped. Thanks Karla for a clever construction.

Filled the grid, now puzzling over the end game.

I've changed the relevant grid entry and highlighted the two forenames. My problem is that I do not see how the corrections to misprints in the across clues "specify a character".

Gitto, that's the one thing that I can see at the moment. Staring at my completed grid and playing with the extra words that I could find has yielded precisely nothing.

I hope that I will find a (currently missed) link between the puzzle and the theme, but at present it just looks like a random GWIT.

RHSL, sorting out the jumbles was key for me because the extra letters, in the order of the 14 clues, lead to the motif.

gitto, I took the corrections to the misprints to be one word specifying the character from the title, then two words saying what it must be drawn with.
