I'm at a loss as to where the 2nd letter of 14a comes from?

4 was my FOI.
LOI 2.
COD 14 but liked 2 because of smooth surface. Other contenders 24, 6, 11, 10.

A good Prize entry from Tramp, being a mix of straightforward clues with some rather tricky misdirection.

Much of my solving time was spent on the very devious 11ac.

Got those two. One of them new.
Other likes: 17d, 24a

11 and 14 both took a lot of solving time due to complex parsing (plus tricky definition for 14).

Cancel 14a query - I was using 'cut off' when I should have used just 'cut'.

Sorry, brendan. Didn't see your post or I'd have said something about 14. But it turned out well in the end.

Sorry Brendan, 14a was the second last to parse fully. I still have one unparsed.
