8D Definition is the first 3 words ( a favourite of Listener setters). Wordplay is: 'uncovered fetta' literally + 2 letter word, but I'm not convinced how it's derived from the clue.
13A Definition is the first two words. The entry (French) is in the last word.
25A Definition is the last 5 words. Wordplay: 1 letter abbreviation + 2 letter printers' term + 2 letter abbreviation.
The removed letters that are not the usual belong to two interposed words that are the instruction of where to start cutting. The words include some of the usual letters.
The name in the circles is a one-word anagram.

Regarding 8d, look for the 16th BRB definition of those last two letters (adverb).

I assumed it would be something like that, but I was struggling to think of many examples where the two words are interchangeable. I don't have BRB and, if it's not in Chambers, I usually don't bother to investigate. I'm not a fan of clues which rely on the umpteenth definition of little words.

Thanks, Darla. I never knew that. And I see the definition is indeed in the BRB, though I'm still struggling to find many examples of usage, other than after one particular verb where it acts almost as a preposition with a noun understood.

Thought this was going to be really hard at first, as the gimmick could make things very difficult, but the gentle clueing made up for it.

One niggle - I can’t find this version of the rearrangement anywhere. Another, symmetrical one, appears common online, but not this one. Am I missing anything?

I eventually found it by googling the author's name and his books. That gave me two main titles. The rearrangement appears in the less famous one (not the one with the cathedral city in its name). You will have to go down the contents quite a way, between 150 and 200, to find it
