Bowergirl, I have an idea for Man of many words whose book is well known, but I don't see how the clue Booked works.
And I'm stuck with 1 across, Manage group in tennis gear (maybe I have the group backwards in letters 5-7 but have no idea of the tennis gear)..
And 1 down, the special lights.
I even looked at the Pixar intro and saw what I might call a gooseneck lamp, but that doesn't fit for the first word.

I took it to be - man who put many words in a book? Lexicographer.

Manage as in lead, group of musicians.
