@FemmeNoir: Think "trap" as slang for mouth.

Thank you malone and nodrig. That’s rather clever. Even with the hints I had to think for a while there…
All done now. On with my Sunday. Seems quiet on here today. Are folks having a very long lie-in ready for the match?

FemmeNoire, glad we could help.
I liked that clue - the 'sounds like' aspect was cleverly done, the surface reading was perfectly smooth.

Hey everyone!
I am enjoying this crossword this sunday :)
I would like some help please on 2d - am i right in thinking that the solution is a specific type of lighting? I don't want to reveal too much incase it is a spoiler.

Goldiew, it's always good to give the clue, letter count etc. Those without a copy would get a chance to help.....

Still completely baffled by 7d despite your very precise reply, Geeker. Any further hints? Thanks

Hi Pippa, those two letters are an abbreviation often clued as “and another thing” or such like, and used in written correspondence.

goldiew,

2d *is* a specific type of lighting. Seems to be a cryptic definition clue.
I could guess the second word and first five letters of the first word.
The term was unknown to me (perhaps better-known in UK) and I had to Google to complete the first word.
