Thanks jono

I am able to access on my device but seem to have to resort to sending off a printed version for a chance of the 15GBP.

Not sure that has kept up with inflation though.

More importantly a fun puzzle. Loved the rhyming pair Spoonerism was good, lots of witty clues and degree of difficulty was middling.

My CoD is 7d.

Best wishes all. They think it's all over.

Yevrah, just a thought - can you not take a scan of your finished puzzle and email it off? I know that's an option, I did it a few weeks ago.

True, have thought of doing that, I'll try it, though I have a perverse image of Tortoise Media still having to employ a real person who slowly meticulously opens envelopes with a letter opener, unfolds the submission, carefully reads the answers, checks it's correct and places it carefully in the pile to go into the basket if correct entries. But I wonder how they combine digital and physical correct submissions. Hmmmm. Having witnessed the poor transition from the Guardian I am not sure i trust it to be done cleanly.

I’m sure I’ve read how they combine manual and electronic entries. I think it was in one the weekly updates that they send by email. I subscribed once and still receive them.

If you want to make sure of the process you can always email Caitlin, the puzzles editor, at puzzles@observer.co.uk.

I really enjoyed today’s puzzle. Lots of great clues but 9a is my favourite. Have a lovely Sunday everyone. Stay cool.

Good morning all! I would love a hint with 7d looking up, I’ll add: a glimpse of rank and file (4)

7d parses as a backwards 2, 1, 1 with definition "file".
The 2 is the tricky part: "I'll add".

17a “Pull up fish escaping from trap” has stumped me.

Mostly pretty straightforward this week I found. 9a also a fave for me bowergirl.

Rhyming pair both had a similar style of clue which was pleasing. Maybe that is always the case and I have missed that little subtlety?
I nearly always forget to look for a rhyming pair and might never have known about it without this forum!
