Finished, using a few nudges from the forum and a couple og goes with CrosswordSolver. With 3 to go, took Roget off the shelf for synonyms of "filter", thus solving 1d, 1a, and LOI 3d.

FOI: 21d

LoI: 3d

25 is a simple anagram
24 has a word for a car around two letters from a word that's a dispstick is slang for, missing a T - a poor clue

Hi Judy,

24a - 5 letter slang or catch-all term for a "car" minus the T/'no time' and that is replaced by a 3 letter "dipstick" another slang term for an idiot - definition is "check" as a verb

25a - straight anagram/'rearranged' - definition is "after infant pulled out"

Interesting, brendan - both your and mine work! We've removed the T from different words.

You're right Chris, and that parsing never even occurred to me. However, now you've pointed it out, I think your version is the intended one.

Ha ha, it's so weird you should say that. I just looked at it again and was thinking the exact same thing:-)
