Got the idea today, but struggling with one or two clues. Please can someone offer help with 13d? More than one fell in shadows with nails splitting (9); there is a redundant letter in the clue which I think is N. I have ?I??SI??S

Thanks, Jogamel. Oh, and you were right about the (N) Ails/ills.

That was fun! First letter of one of the place names was a guess but that apart it all fell into place nicely.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one, some tough clues but ultimately doable.

A fun tribute to National Limerick Day. I thought one phrase in the preamble had to be stretched a bit, but I couldn't think of alternative wording so I'm happy just to appreciate the puzzle as a whole.

All done other than a place name that I think goes in the fourth row, rhyming with the unches in rows 8 and 2.

Gitto, you could verify the missing letter by checking against the jumble, but it's a seaside village in Devon.
