Ah just noticed that the print version (which I dont use) says to enter the solutions, not the grid entries.

Feeling pretty buffaloed here, have around ten answers some of which I've been able to enter, but 30a for instance makes me apprehensive that I won't have heard of some of the answers. [Was very lucky that I had just seen someone talking about 3d.] Though as I type this, another one is coming. ...and ah, figured out how to make the first part of the hint work. Excelsior!

OK, for 21d I typed in what looked like a string of nonsense characters that fit the wordplay and was astounded to find that it was a word... but a genus of a different class. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Ahahaha the grid eccentricities did not work in the way I had envisioned. Spent a while wondering why he was saying "Ta Edie." Brilliant.

Still have the wordplay unparsed for 16a... and I feel that some US states were played fast and loose with (there is a maritime province that would have better fit the surface of 26d). Also feel bad for David Adkins being left off the list... was going to say the same for Christina Claire Ciminella but she doesn't spell her name that way. [Using some people's less well known birth names to avoid spoilers.]

16a - 5 letter "minor edit" minus/'vetoes' 2 letter "Guardian employees"

...ohhhhh. I had been using the wrong case for the two-letter and was completely baffled. (Didn't help that I don't know the answer word and spent a long time at the beginning of the puzzle trying to work out how it could be "Ben.")

I have filled in the grid, parsed every answer and managed to make 4 extra words by ‘thinking outside the box’ but can not for the life of me see what links them all let alone find two extra members of the group despite mulling it all day. Can anyone give me the smallest hint?

Tekwntwo2 - give the clues that led to thematically-connected answers a hard stare…

Lovely puzzle from Enigmatist but I don’t see the link to Guardian 30000 and the build up with all the hidden messages. Must be going my head
