I've solved quite a few of the clues, but without the 13 letter entry across the top I can't fit them.
Any hints?

You could try again to fit things together without the 13-letter answer. It's not impossible.

Excellent Gemelo, IQ and EV puzzles this weekend but I think Charybdis takes the palm with this Listener,

Think I broadly understand what’s going on, having shaded 47 cells - very well constructed!

No idea what the title means, nor its repetition in the preamble

I have three unclued entries, but googling the theme word has not led me to any suggestions for the other three

And what on earth is the Charybdis clue on about? I have a possible answer, but cannot make head not tail of it

I think it's just a repetition/'twice' of how Charybidis would refer to himself/herself, hence "said", with the definition being "order on board is accepted".

I did initially think there might be more to it regarding an abbr. for "accepted" but that would mean the following 2 letters (again repeated) could mean "thus", but I can't find any justification in Chambers for this.
