Any help appreciated for 3d where i have an improbable ????we? Web of some sort? It's not an MP hopefully?

Also 32a cordial? I havr ??i??e?

And 7d is something to do with chairs?

Methinks i picked the wrong week to attempt the spectator crossword.

Thanks in advance!

N00b26. It's always a good idea to give the clues, then those without a copy can help (or try to help).

I still have my copy.
All your crosser are correct.
3d defn is to give protection to (using trees).
32a a cordial, yes, and what’s used to make it.
7d chairs, no, think toast in the breakfast sense. Defn is speakers.

Thanks, Jono. I could remember all the answers, but without the clues I couldn't give any hints!

PS I think non-Spectator solvers like seeing the puzzle - without the clues there's no chance of solving. I know I like dipping into other puzzles occasionally - hence my 'please give the clues' stance!

Thanks, Malone, I agree with you on the giving of clues.

When people post clues from puzzles which aren’t blogged daily or which sit behind paywalls it’s usually because they are particularly tricky or flawed in some way. Either way they can be interesting!

Thanks, Jono. I enjoy seeing clues from other publications, even those with styles I don't like!

3d Give protection to one in parliament briefly adopted by leaderless MP (7)

32a Cordial one is found in poverty (7)

7d Speakers head off those covering toast perhaps (8)
