4 letter term for a (3yo) 52d (I'd never heard of it but it's in Chambers as def. No. 4) + 2 letter "carp innards"

What did you make of the "Note that's part of auction"?

I got that purely by the chain and its space in the grid.

I got lucky with the "note that's part of auction" by correctly guessing the 4 letter "auction" at my first attempt and then also knowing the 2 letter "note" as it often crops up in barred puzzles in place of doh

Yes, I see it now. Was not aware of the 2, though 4 seems obvious now.

Checked in for an idea of how tricky it was before starting and disappointed to see a spoiler with the actual answer given to a clue.

I have the grid complete but am puzzled by 2d. It must be the "Most distant Scottish cottage" clue and the word I have fits in the chain but I can't fit the solution to the clue ...

I too am puzzled by the Scottish cottage - but also struggling with many more. A clue to 20a would be helpful

66a really annoying - can't get started on that either.

Prospero, most distant is the first 3 letters and Scot’s cottage room is the final 3 (defn. 16 in my Chambers) and yes it goes in 2d.
