Good day all. A fun puzzle.

But The Observer has done it again. The appearance on my device is awful. I cannot begin to list the glitches.

Trying to move on.

Rhyming pair, primarily, hidden, a good Spoonerism.

Cannot seem to 'submit' it but am not bothered about that.

Well done Everyman. Spoonerism gets my CoD.

Not well done to the app designers.

I’m a PDFer, so no complaints.

Most enjoyable.

Loved the Spooner and the rhyming pair.

Hi, yevrah. YMMV. I had no problems doing the puzzle on my Macbook, and it actually looked better than it has since the move. The puzzle was automatically submitted after I completed the grid.

Usually don’t like Spoonerisms, but this one was very clever.

Can anyone post a blank grid or the pdf?

I’ve not been able to access the pdf in the normal way though I was able to access the puzzle with a chrome browser this morning. There doesn’t appear to be a pdf option on the site any more.

I read that this weekend’s paper includes an eight-page puzzle supplement which includes a “special Jumbo Everyman”.

They are celebrating 100 years of puzzles at the Observer.

Jono - I found a printable version via the three dots at the top right of the puzzle, then there’s a ‘print’ option, but it doesn’t actually say PDF. The whole thing is horrendous to navigate on my (admittedly rather old) iPhone!

Same experience as you, darla, and I think the new font is rather classy.
Am I right in assuming that you don’t get an invitation to submit unless you’ve completed the grid correctly? I suppose I could have experimented by deliberately inserting a wrong letter…perhaps next week.
Easier than average, I’d say, but some lovely clues, including, as you said darla, an excellent Spoonerism.
