I would love help with reel 6.
Also I have an answer for reel 7 (anxious disturbance), including anagram of nurse, but can't see the further parsing?

Lumen, in reel 7, the last letter (end) is omitted from two words in the anagram fodder.
Reel 6 def. is 'birds'. An anagram around 2 abbreviations, (!,2)

... both allowing for extra letters, of course.

Sorry. it was a typo. I meant that the abbreviations are 1&2 letters.

I had dismissed an anagram of slowly.
As there are at least two short words for an island chain, I was sure one of them was involved.

I now have the theme, the quote, the character, and know how the endgame will work.
But still struggling in SE corner, if someone would assist me with reel 36, and also 25a would be a huge help.

Lumen, reel 36 def. is 'making a mark' The villa (in Bradford's) is a type of housing, minus last letter, and with an extra.
25a. def. is 'Ed's complaint'. 1 letter + 'tedious course' + 1 letter + 1 letter.
