Annoyingly, despite being signed up to Guardian Editions which gives you access to the Observer, I can not now see the online version without creating an account. Solution: go to the page in the Observer Review on iPad. Blow up section of crossword so it fits the screen then do a screen grab. Crop out anything you don’t want to print then print the screen grab. Works fine for me!

As an aside, stinker of a crossword today with some very iffy clues. Had to resort to DanWord for a couple as well.

Hi Darla, none here - presume the North Atlantic is too cold.

I treated myself to the paper, so no downloading difficulties. I agree that the puzzle is on the harder side, especially in the NE corner. No one else, however, seems to have had a problem with 8d. I have an answer of sorts , which involves a well known abbreviation for physical exercise and the first and last letters from en garde, but I don’t really see how it works. Could someone please put me straight?
