Seems liit should be an anagram but I have _R_S_E which i can't make one from!

The answer is Triste , which , apparently, means sad

I looked in here to see if there was any discussion on this. The answer is surely TRISTE (achaic for sad), which only makes sense if there is a misprint and SISTER should be SITTER.

Misprints are not unknown.
