I think will37 means that there is an extra letter within a word within the clue, not an extra letter in the wordplay.

I think Will37 is saying that there’s an letter already there that gets removed by application of the variation on the theme (which I agree with) - not that it’s one of the clues in which the wordplay generates an extra letter.

I think 14 is &lit, the clue wordplay is a 1-word ordering, a 3-word definition, a 2-word definition, and a 1-word definition.

btw, for the last few weeks my comments are often failing to post when I hit "Add Post".

The precise nature of the alterations to six clues may become clearer if one notes the letters after which a letter is added, in five of those clues.

Iratus, I've had the same problem. I sometimes have to try twice to log in, too. I've reported it, but nothing's changed.

I mentioned the posting problem last week or the week before. You have to close all popup adverts about three times then hope for the best. It is becoming somewhat unusable though, unfortunately.

Enjoyed this although some of the clueing is too fiddly IMV. Think I've finished, and have now had 8 and 14 explained by the thread. That just leaves 2, 11, 16, 28 and 29 that I can't fully parse, and I'm having trouble justifying the definition in 20. Other than that......

Incidentally, I find if you open a second window, get the forum up on that, close all the adverts on there, then go back to the first window, it normally then posts for some reason. That's my current technique.
