Thank goodness for that! I was deflated for a while, but happy now.

Candledave or someone else, please give a little more on 31d? Still baffled despite your post. Have D?ER
I can’t parse 2d at all, various posts are implying the answer is not the well known North European language?
Otherwise think I am 90% there. Loved the realisation that the eleven letters actually meant something!

Lumen, re 31d, there are only three words in Chambers that fit. One will match the definition, and from there Candledave’s parsing is clear.

Re 2d, look up the word think it is and can’t parse, and the correct answer will be shown

Some very tricky clues. I had to reverse engineer the parsing of some once I had worked out the end game and where the included letters must be.
Only one loose end. I know the answer and missing letter for 33 but even after sleeping on it the parsing eludes me.

Smithsax, the first three words of the clue generate the first letter of the wordplay

Well behind, as ever, but a full grid. For the 'remaining 11 clues" is it the first letter of the clues or the first letter of their answers? I've identified 8 so far!
Thanks

It's the first letters of the clues, unlikely as that might seem at first.

Thanks quizling. Easy when you know. Sometimes my brain refuses to see the obvious. Williamseal - it is the clues rather than the entries.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Some tough clues but all resolves unambiguously. Thanks Demoniacal

Some help in parsing 28D. Connect triangular pieces of originals? The answer appears obvious but doesn't make any sense (to me anyway!).
