I did find this an engrossing puzzle, in spite of a few flaws.
I made this much harder for myself by not reading the preamble properly. A recurrent problem for me. Despite the niggles discovered by others I thought this was cleverly put together. I still have some empties but they will fall into place.
40dn made me smile, as a young teenager I was smitten by Little Joe.
I enjoyed this puzzle, despite the forbidding acres of unclued lights ... but i could use a nudge on the second full word on the antepenultimate line, where I have *ide*.
Thanks in advance and Mrs Misty Archer to you all (5,9)

Hi, I've made some progress on this crossword; however, this unclued lights business is new to me.. Do you guys have any tips or hints on how to first approach finding the yellow categories and then the rest of the unclued lights? I find that there are so many unclued lights, I don't know where to start.
