While I'm still of the opinion that the Everyman crosswords have, at least to some degree, increased in difficulty since their move to The Observer, I think this one is easier than the last few.

That said, one answer is a version of a well known word that I've never heard or seen before and which isn't in Chambers, although it is in the Free Online Dictionary.

COD: A toss-up between 11a and 13a

Thanks to Everyman for a fun and pleasant solve.

Now does anyone have Sally's contact details 😉 (Really Bren, we're doing that are we! 😞)

I stand corrected - the word I mentioned in my previous post is, in fact, in Chambers.

Hi Brendan ....

It was infuriating!

1a/2d last two in.

I'd say 1a or 13a for COD

Nope, I don't have her number ;-)

Enjoyed today's. Took a while to finish the SW corner. But when I got 16d that helped and is my CoD.

Couple of clues I thought were weak - 1a for example. And I cannot parse 24a.

Not sure i have 15d correct.

But I can live with these.

Wishing you all good day.

15d parses 2,2. Bare as in the bare minimum.

Really struggled to get going this week, but the rhyming pair helped, then everything largely fell into place. Still very unsure of 6D, though. If I've got the parsing (and indeed the answer) correct, it's a pretty awful clue ('some bass' - really?). By contrast, 1A in this week's Quiptic has to be one of the finest clues I've ever seen!

Ah yes, I had spotted the hidden, just forgot, thanks.

Enjoyed the rhyming pair.

Not seen the reverend for a while.
