If memory serves we had this conversation a few years ago and, at least then, I think you were using IOS which, like I said, does have all the bells and whistles you mentioned, but the Android version doesn't. I even contacted the people in charge of the Chambers app but got no reply.

Hi Raffles, I'm embarrassed to say that I don't get the 'books glide' reference, which is regrettable especially after yesterday's excellent 'boat drinks'

Late to the party but another very satisfying puzzle from Kruger, to whom thanks. One itch left to scratch is 31d - I have ? N P E T and can’t make anything of that despite being pretty satisfied with the crossers that produce this string.
