grahamderek, thanks for the nudge at 17 - I had SEA for the med, and that completely fooled me - as well as assuming they spelt the names of four actors, not five. Grid complete but I still can't find the 2nd actor.

Has anyone worked out the significance of the title yet?

@gitto he’s between 13ac and 23ac… I had the wrong letter for 15ac and can’t figure why 22ac gives the letter it does either!

In 22a, the crystal is an acronym of Yttrium Aluminium Garnet. Bradford’s is useful for the second parts of the unclued entries

Continuing the chemical theme, the missing letters in the bottom half of the second column represent mercury

2nd word of 2nd column is Scottish stocking with no foot
22a the one I can't parse (there's usually at least one)

22a parses 3,3, first letter extra. Look up last 3 in caps

It is nice having a Bradfords innit. Just pop all the answers in and go off to the pub
