Jogamel,

6d - first 3 letters/'short' of 4 letter "socks" goes around/'sers' 3 letter "badly" with extra word "Alcott" - definition is "his" but it's a plural of an old word/'previousy' for 'hello'

PS. Only the singular of the answer is in the Chambers app, if you're wondering why you can't find it.

Thanks Jogamel, glad we could help.

38a - 6 letter "measures" as a noun (part of a gallon) but with 2 letter "Ukraine" replaced by 2 letter "special order" abbreviation - definition is a type of personalirty test.

Your letters are correct but this is another one where only the singular is in Chambers, so try chopping off the final S when looking it up:-)

muraria - I've got nothing of interest happening in the SW corner. Not sure what you're referring to.

I'm having a dim day, bored - I think - by the lack of excitement at Old Trafford after the first magic over. I have the thing in the SW corner, but the things carried elude me (though one of them might be a chap/ess balanced atop the 12). Can't see what 12A is though. I have
P-L-KA, which rings no bell. It looks as though it might be one of the 9 clues with an extra word.

Ho Cockie,

12a - Your letters are correct. It's how Mr Kieślowski would refer to his country.

Start at 27D, go to bottom, along for two cells and back up again....
