Got it rog - many thanks. That's me finished.

Definitely benefited from the amount of anagrams, and getting the theme quickly.

Finished. I got the theme quite quickly which helped. Was held up by the Green Goddess but got there in the end. Was completely unfamiliar with the Simspsons reference. Slightly easier than usual.

HI everyone

Started even later than usual and was surprised to get five on first read through. Got a few more, but stuck on many. I know what a Green Goddess is, but what is TMS?

I haven't got the theme unless it is adverbs - there are a lot of them. I must check my sugars (organic chemistry) for 15ac. I got bored and ventured into the garden to cut back some plants - back inside for a cool down.

Can I have a hint for 11ac. I assumed the definition is "Building" and it is an anagram of granite and something. Am I wrong?

A hint for 12ac might help me break into that north west corner.

12a is a thematic, which gives the final 2 letters. The first three letters are a (semi-?) synonym for "toupee"

Well back again and read your hints. But I had already finished on my own. I had one wrong - 21 down, which I checked on Dan Word, and I misled myself on 11ac by assuming the answer would be a verb rather than a noun. I confess I can't see the definition. It took me ages to get 13d, which I only did after getting 20ac and I knew what a Green Goddess was.

It was relatively easy fro a Paul, but many of the anagrams were heavily disguised

FOI was 23ac, LOI was 10ac, CODs were 3d and 20ac.

I am finding the crosswords more difficult these days - not enough lateral thinking on my part. We'll be out next Saturday, so may not get time to do it. I missed last week as we were in London to go to see "Giant" at the Haymarket. Excellent and recommended to those of you in London. Our trip coincided with London Pride. so much of Westminster and Soho was closed to traffic. Piccadilly was closed to pedestrians so we had to make a long detour from Green Park tube station, my sore hip did suffer - but the play was worth it.

Hi roof
If you put ‘re-‘ in front of your solution to 11a, it might give you an idea about how the definition works.

As others have noted, a surprisingly gentle offering from Paul today.

Got quite a few answers on the first pass and it all started to slot into place, despite the heat that makes me less patient and willing to engage with the clues.

LOI was 15a because -as noted downthread- both definitions were so loose. Thought of the answer fairly quickly but needed the crossers to confirm it.

Regardless, enjoyed the puzzle
