Nice of the Observer to tell us they've changed the system and the score doesn't pop up when you've finished any more. I've just spent half an hour searching for possible mistakes!
@Phil10000
I think that's because it wouldn't make much sense to tell you you've got wrong answers, if you're submitting it to the prize draw! But yes, they could have mentioned it ...
I'm not someone who's ever paid attention to solving times, but for those struggling with this week's puzzle I just want to point out that last week my time was 10:50 and this week it's 38:12.
Glad it wasn't just me - 1D held me up for ages (it's annoyingly SO obvious when you get it!). Also glad to read the Pop Up with one's time and score has stopped as its absence made me think I'd made a mistake somewhere!!
A really hard one.
On the subject of irritation with the new format, I like to print off the pdf rather than complete on line. However, the print size is too small and impedes my enjoyment. Still, I won’t break the habit of a lifetime ( for now).
I did this on my mobile and can't remember if I clicked submit or not once I finished. But I did get a popup. It says 'Congratulations. Your score 280. You completed the puzzle in 25 minutes 38 seconds."
This is puzzling because in the new format the score no longer comes up. Instead it is replaced by an invitation to submit your entry by adding your name and email.
I hesitate to ask but are you sure you clicked on this week's puzzle?
