I have a question. On Guardian Prize threads (the prize is a book) people are careful to give only hints, but on these Private Eye ones (Prize £150) folk seem free and easy with complete solutions. Any reason for that?

Pault, it's just a Forum convention that people don't give answers to the Guardian prize clues . If someone wants an answer, asks for an answer, that's absolutely fine. Norah, site administrator, has requested 'no answers' to Listener clues - that's because she canvassed Forum members and that's what the majority wanted. All the other puzzles, including prize ones, have no such restriction.
