Getting to be increasingly harder.

Liked: Spooner, Calves losing head, maritime movement, blogger post.

Quickest time yet for me; horses for courses and all that.

I thought it fairly approachable, on the whole, but had to use a thesaurus for 6a and was surprised when my shrug and bung for 19d triggered the “well done you have completed the puzzle “ message. Anyone care to parse it for me?

19d I thought it is (not so) cryptic definition

Fairly quick for me too, though I dislike being given a time even though I’ve turned the timer off in settings.

I’m not sure the syntax in the blogger.com clue works. “How to…” doesn’t suggest the solution should be a noun.

19d is a double definition, the second being definition by example.

Morning all.

Also got the 'well done' result after changing several letters because i find the automatic skipping of filled cells gets me typing in new letters where I shouldn't.

Not sure if I explained that well.

Anyway, spooner returns with a good one. And even induces a Viz-type fna fna snigger in me.

And 26a reminds me i recall were also in a comic in the 60s.

19a takes me back to all those t-shirts I made in the 70s.

So lots of reminiscing, enjoyed today's. Thanks Everyman.

Found this write-in until I reached my LOI 19d.

I could see an obvious sign but couldn't figure out where the cake came in, so resorted to Google and discovered it's something that is more popular in US.

Some fun clueing and good to see Dr Spooner making an appearance , thanks Everyman.

A bit nonplussed by Everyman's decision to spoon-feed the answer in the wording of 16a. 'A couple of cows ...' might have been better. Also, using the definite article in clue and solution of 19d seemed so lazy I thought I must have got it wrong till the inevitable '280 points' popped up. The spoonerism was a cracker though.

Thanks JustSolve, I followed your example and asked Mr Google about my answer to 19d.I’d never heard of the delicacy, despite being very fond of the main ingredient and having visited the USA.
