I think 19a, 15d, and 16d have more than one possible answer on a first pass (not considering the unclued entries). 15d is determined by the need to anagram the grid.

Have çompleted this puzzle.

I didn't need Excel or brute force to solve the unclued entries, just a pen and paper and a calculator. Unfortunately the first of the unclued entries I tackled has two solutions, and I stumbled upon the incorrect one first.

I liked the idea of a twostage Numerical, so this puzzle gets a thumbs-up from me.

I'm doing it the old fashioned way, and have hit the 14a problem that others have had.

Can someone confirm if 8d sums to 30?

Thanks

Apologies to all for my silly question in #16 and the suggestion that it seemed too easy! Getting started is easy, but for anyone who found the six digit clues without a speadsheet and/or coding deserves huge respect. I thought I was nearly there, searching for an error until I realised that some 6 digit numbers can have more than one anagram that is also a multiple.

I agree except initially I had 3 possible answers for 15d, and the need to anagram the grid only eliminated 1 of those answers.

Thanks Dim. I think that's probably right then. Just realised there are 2 answers for 12a that meet the previously mentioned criteria. Can someone confirm that it's the one where digit 4 is higher than digit 3 that is correct?

Spent another 2 hours today doing the whole thing from scratch. Found a second answer for 7d. But still can't make 18 a work.......

Going to have to have a break for today I think...

I had 3 possible 16d and 4 possible 19a. Given that they must have the same 2nd digit this gave me 5 possible combinations.

I also agree there are 2 possible answers for 15 d after ruling one out for the anagram.

As established in earlier posts the sum of the 6 digits in the correct answer to 12a is 33, whereas they sum to 30 in the incorrect answer.

And yes, the 4th digit is higher than the 3rd digit in what I believe is the correct answer.
