Check function missing for me and I've retried (17a !) some letters in 15d, 5d and 21d - all to no avail

I will hope for a PDM.

Interesting, I just changed tabs then went back the crossword page and I got the congratulations pop up. So all was correct but for some reason it didn't trigger first time.

I didn't understand your reference to 17a in brackets so I'm wondering if that's where you might have gone wrong.

Also, the clue numbers do not appear in the clue for me, which is irritating.

Aha, corrected that one I did have that game in my head but had tried / retried (retries) a different answer.

Still no bells.

Aha...got it... 15d was the final straw that broke the donkeys back.

Completely wrong metaphor there but hey, it's for fun.
