My guess is that a slip of a thing is a small person and therefore a pipsqueak, but it’s not very satisfactory so I may be wrong!

All I can add at this stage is I'm already over 15 minutes and I have three answers only. I think this is tougher than your average Everyman.

Agreed with rogissimo on 1d
As in "little **** of a thing", presumably pipsqueak.
I cogitated on that one for a long time (LOI by far) and nearly gave up.

I think it’s safe to say the scoring is meaningless and/or broken. I’ve just spent a couple of hours wrestling this beast, with multiple checks and revisions and six reveals. When the last answer was revealed I was told I completed in 9 minutes 10 seconds, with a score of 355. Result!!?

Totally agree re 1d. Also my LOI. I had snit for ages. In the end decided it must be s for second and lip for attitude to get pipsqueak as previously defined. Really struggled with a lot of this. Got there finally and there were some nice clues but not being able to start it until 10 has played havoc with my Sunday morning routine. Let’s hope they can sort this time of uploading. Happy Sunday all.

I’m glad others found this tougher than the usual Everyman … thought it was just me … letting myself be unduly influenced by the terrible interface … some ‘stretched’ parsings.
Btw … you can turn the timer etc off.

At least I can see the numbers this week. My main gripe is the format - I can’t get it on one screenshot (and attack it with the ipencil).

Well, that was more challenging than usual but enjoyable nevertheless.
Loved 20A.
Don't understand 8D even though I have an answer.
Can't work out 25A - though there's an obvious answer if it Indeed begins with N.
And can't do 23A at all (D?I?)
Any hints welcome.
Thanks, Everyman.
