Got a horsey friend from NI so liked the def. of pony. Last cascade was historical figure, novelist, type of thing from 5d, Googled that. Who knew? Thought it was an Aussie thing. Finally I got the bug.

Got most of Masquerade but looking back I'm glad I didn't spend days on the Jigsaw end.

I liked this one...taken a while to parse everything but now I have im happy. Loved 14d, once it clicked. And 28a. But I'm totally stumped by 9ac despite the hints here!!

9 is a poor clue for an unusual word (for it's letter sequence)

I finally am left with only 27 to fill. Any help I will be grovellingly grateful for.

Well, I'm not doing very well. It took me a while to get 5d only to find it hasn't been much help. I don't know 5d at all and have done just over half. I need a few hints to make progress.

I have all of the crossers for 11ac and think it must be a word I've never heard of.

Not so many crossers for 22ac. Is this a real person or something else?

16d Has defeated me too - again I have most of the crossers.

Not to mention the NE corner which mostly eludes me. Is the answer to 27/6 a football ground? If so Google hasn't found it for me. I don't think I'm ever going to get 8d
