I’ve filled the grid, got the song and singer and pretty sure of the words to be highlighted but I can only find the second and third words of the definition in the grid. Can someone give me a pointer please?

Teenieleek, the highlighting in itself displays 90 degree symmetry, though the grid doesn’t quite because it’s 12x13. It’s a regular shape.

Hi bc,
If you google the silvered column, and what it's doing in the grid, it will give you the song and singer.

Thanks, quisling. Dave Clayton Thomas of Blood Sweat and Tears - rock/jazz band of some renown when I was a lad. I was indeed, way out. I had the song as "Spinning Wheel" from the solutions to 1 and 10 down....there's a line "what goes up must come down" and "ride a ******* ****"

Bugger me!

Thanks Quisling but I’m no further forward. Maybe I’m looking for the wrong letters. I’ll wait for the solution in two weeks’ time.

If you have the right second word, much of the fourth word is directly opposite, teenieleak. It refers to a meaning of a word (usually ending in -ing) which appears in the line immediately before that illustrated in the first and last columns.
