Slow progress and - like Drxx - I don't particularly enjoy maths themed puzzles. I admire the craft that has gone into producing this, but it just doesn't "float my boat". I've other things I'd rather be doing just now.

Trastan, in the clue you mention the correction is at the end of a word. I think most people cold solve more clues than strictly necessary to start filling the grid. I know I do!

Yes of course that penny dropped as soon as I'd posted, dodgepot. And I agree - once, when I feared ruining my one thin newsprint copy, I would be very hesitant to start filling in. Now I just fingerscribble on a pdf, which removes some of the glamour, but does also reduce the stakes.

I’ve ground to a halt, with nine answers, and no idea how to fit them in. Hints maybe to the first few of each set might help

Thanks

I am marginally ahead of Dylan, having solved 10 clues (5 A and 5 B), but unable to enter any of them. I am totally in awe of those who have solved so many of what I regard as exceptionally difficult clues. No idea where to go from here and I am now contemplating ditching it.

For me the way in was the bottom half and a string of the four-letter acrosses in set A. With these you'll notice as per the rubric that the letters do represent something - they're not entirely random inserts. This means that their intersections are quite constrained.

I spent a long time cavorting with the wrong kind of apes, incidentally, so beware that!

I have all the answers, the whole grid and the sketch (I think), but I seem to have two strings that satisfy the description given by the corrections. I have tried writing them on a sheet of paper and manipulating them appropriately, including the use of an appropriate object, but I cannot see which to choose.

Still painfully struggling, now on 13 answers. It seems that several of Set B clues have a redundant word, is this correct? Eg Half-cut apes……..
And
Sailors turfed…….

Thanks

There are no redundant words in the set B clues, dylan, merely corrected letters

I can’t see how African fits in Half-cut apes…….
Or
Cases in Sailors turfed?
